11/21/19 Positional Heirarchy

Working on understanding the positional hierarchy.

Always advance the position.
Work toward better position.
Need to set up the mouse trap to progress to the next position:
Trap the arm
Attack the neck
Move up the body and trap/control as you go.

Control before position before submisison

Rolling: Pass the guard and progress right to armbar. Dont want to have to fight on bottom, Keep a few things in your back pocket that are quick and easy that you dont reveal, such as arm and leg drag to armbar, such as mount to whatever, darce, etc. True for life- dont reveal what else you have up your sleeve. 11/9/2019 MMA Class

Love this class with Marshal. Worked defending the body punches. Stand up sparring Defending punches from the guard, get to mount, get out of the guard, sweep! Dont defend kicks with your hand! Ouch... Punches to the body hurt, even with the pads on! Everyone donned the body protectors and had 30seconds of everyone in the room punching them Work with the stick and the knife- defending the knife means controlling the knife. 10/1/2019 Rolling

Rolled with Jamie this evening: 1- I know not all I think! 2- He kept catching me in the triangle or arm bar. I kept getting sucked into his guard. Need to work on understanding how to stay out of the spider guard. 3- Work on passing the guard and staying outside. Standup is the way.
